چکیده

The perimeter and area generating functions of exactly solvable polygon models satisfy q-functional equations, where q is the area variable. The behaviour in the vicinity of the point where the perimeter generating function diverges can often be described by a scaling function. We develop the method of qlinear approximants in order to extract the approximate scaling behaviour of polygon models when an exact solution is not known. We test the validity of our method by approximating exactly solvable q-linear polygon models. This leads to scaling functions for a number of q-linear polygon models, notably generalized rectangles, Ferrers diagrams, and stacks.

Numerical solution of linear control systems using interpolation scaling functions

The current paper proposes a technique for the numerical solution of linear control systems. The method is based on Galerkin method, which uses the interpolating scaling functions. For a highly accurate connection between functions and their derivatives, an operational matrix for the derivatives is established to reduce the problem to a set of algebraic equations. Several test problems are given...

Scaling behaviour of two-dimensional polygon models

Exactly solvable two-dimensional polygon models, counted by perimeter and area, are described by q-algebraic functional equations. We provide techniques to extract the scaling behaviour of these models up to arbitrary order and apply them to some examples. These are then used to analyze the unsolved model of self-avoiding polygons, where we numerically confirm predictions about its scaling func...

Universal scaling limits of matrix models , and ( p , q ) Liouville gravity

We show that near a point where the equilibrium density of eigenvalues of a matrix model behaves like y ∼ x p/q , the correlation functions of a random matrix, are, to leading order in the appropriate scaling, given by determinants of the universal (p, q)-minimal models kernels. Those (p, q) kernels are written in terms of functions solutions of a linear equation of order q, with polynomial coe...

Using shifted Legendre scaling functions for solving fractional biochemical reaction problem

In this paper, biochemical reaction problem is given in the form of a system of non-linear differential equations involving Caputo fractional derivative. The aim is to suggest an instrumental scheme to approximate the solution of this problem. To achieve this goal, the fractional derivation terms are expanded as the elements of shifted Legendre scaling functions. Then, applying operational matr...

General order multivariate Padé approximants for pseudo-multivariate functions

Although general order multivariate Padé approximants were introduced some decades ago, very few explicit formulas for special functions have been given. We explicitly construct some general order multivariate Padé approximants to the class of so-called pseudo-multivariate functions, using the Padé approximants to their univariate versions. We also prove that the constructed approximants inheri...
